Online: Online classes have NO scheduled class meetings. All instruction is conducted via the college’s learning management system. While there are no scheduled meetings, asynchronous classes are not self-paced. Assignments are to be submitted online and are due on specific dates.
Hybrid: Hybrid classes include a combination of in-person meetings at specific days/times AND online activities. Examples: 1) Every Monday 12:30 PM - 1:55 PM in-person AND also online each week. 2) Online with scheduled in-person midterm and final exams. 3) Online each week with a scheduled in-person field experience Saturday.Students need to read the class schedule carefully to check days/times of in-person meeting.
Online Synchronous: Online synchronous classes meet on specific days and times via cloud-based video communications apps (Microsoft Teams, Zoom, Skype, etc.) Example: Online Meetings each week (for ex., MW 9:20 AM - 10:45 AM).
Video Conference: Video Conference Classes allow an Instructor to teach in one location and students to attend the class in multiple locations. Instructors and students are lit, microphoned, and on-camera at all times during the session. One or multiple cameras provide a panoramic, full-room view of all, or nearly all students so that instructors and students can see and be seen by the paired classroom. Instructor may teach from each location on alternating days.
